Jelousy? Envy? Lonely? Kurang Kasih Sayang? Kesepian? Hasad Dengki?
It was something that my mother used to tell to me. I have always thought it was something that she made up but today thanks to Mr Google I now know that it was a hadith.
“Do not look to those above you. Look to those below you, as it will more likely remind you of Allah’s favors bestowed on you.” [Saheh al-Bukhari and Saheh Muslim]
Muhammad Rasulullah SAW also said on another occasion that:
“If one of you looks at someone wealthier and better built than him, he should also look at someone of lower standard than himself.” [Saheh Muslim]
My mother wanted her children to be more thankful. I want some people to shut up.
If you know when you are looking at your friend’s new diamonds bling bling, your colleague’s new vacation photo albums, your neighbor’s new ride or even your buddy’s new baby that looks like Suri or Benjamin Button; you will be fuming mad with jealousy, just remember this hadiths and by all means refrain from reading this blog looking. It will save you a lot by reducing the probability of getting stress induced hypertension and of course dosa mengumpat.
This is a reminder to myself. Tapi kalau ko makan sushi takkan ko tak terasa wasabi. hehehehe..
