The day when you were 6 months
Rayna..
Last few weeks you had your last Rotateq vaccinations, few days later you started getting feverish, vomiting, and diarrhea but I thought that was a normal reaction to the vaccines. By Friday afternoon that fever was still sticking around and getting worst. By dinner it had jumped up to 38 and that's when I started to freak, we took you to the nearest clinic and of course the doctor couldn't find anything else wrong with you and he chalked it up to being a severe reaction to the vaccines but said if you are getting worst the next day, we need to bring you ASAP to the hospital. The next day your condition keep getting worse. You was shivering, lethargic & wouldn't eat or drink but everyone kept telling us it was the vaccines and that we should give it time, that just didn't seem right to me.
The next day, you had a very high fever, lost your appetite and was generally miserable.. Your mood had gone from cuddly to miserable and you spiked a fever of 40! I think the saddest thing I've ever experienced is every time your fever comes back you gets the chills and curls up on top of me and just shivers. You didn't eat and drink for 2 days. Your mouth was tightly closed. I didn't know what else to do but to dig into your mouth. I remembered you bit me hard and I wondering if that is the pain of teething. Then you screamed and cried in tears. We rushed you to the ER where we were really scared and we cried silently. In the ER, you had a drip line setup so that they could administer antibiotics and to avoid dehydration but you crying out loud, and I know you are sick and I am sick at heart.
The MO advised us to admit you for observation and to run test and escalate you to the Paed which we promptly complied. By afternoon, we had you in the hand of a good doctor. You were warded and we accompanied you. You had a thorough check-up. The Paed was satisfied that you were okay though she kept on asking us how long you had sick. But she still insisted that you stayed another night in the hospital. But you just screamed and cried. I remembered your mom was in tears holding you tight to stop you from struggling.
Oh, how we prayed for you for all night. I remembered you just refused to put on a drip & medications.. Rayna, I understand, you are just as stubborn as your father.. Fortunately, all the urine, stool and blood test they ran came back mostly negative. It turned out that you had likely come down with a viral fever.
I would like to thank you for all who coming to visit our lil princess when she admitted to the hospital (esp: my family and my PIL), to all who wished, prayed, SMSed, YMed and FBed. Zillion thanks..
