Are you surrounded by negative-thinking people?
With the coming election and also the looming economy crisis (job cut, inflation rate, etc etc), people around us are surely becoming more and more negative. It seems like your life will never be good in this world..
Your alarm clock rings in the morning.. but you are too demotivated to get to work.. so you put SNOOZE and return to sleep.
Then the alarm clock rings again.. and you drag yourself up from your bed.
You go to the bathroom to take shower, wash your face, brush teeth, etc..
And then you become more awake. You start to think about the day ahead.. the boring job.. the idiotic boss.. the problematic and annoying clients.. the stacks and stacks of reports to do.. and the list goes on and on.
You go to work.. stuck in a jam.. listening to the news, which always convey news.. bad news – market crashed, forest fire in Indonesia, jobless grads on the rise, etc etc.
You go for lunch with your colleagues and while eating, each of them starts to relate their stories of the day.. normally it’ll be about complaints on jobs.. bosses.. colleagues.. the market.. lack of money.. etc.
Just look at the example above. Does that sound familiar? I’m sure it does. Because everywhere we go, we’ll be faced by all these negative influences around us. How is it possible for us not to be negative when the people around us.. or should I say, the entire world, is behaving negatively?
I donno.. but I was often put down by my friends whenever I came out with an idea. Maybe my ideas were pure nonsense to them but it’s better than not trying at all. Having the awareness that I should make a change, is a lot better than sitting around complaining that money is not enough. I’m always frustrated by my friends’ negative mindset. In the end, I stopped asking them for opinions.
Positive thinking is very critical. You can overcome a lot of obstacles in life if you think positively. I also believe the famous “Secret” or “Law of attraction” is actually trying to teach people how to think positively (no, I don’t believe in the supernatural power thingy). Sometimes, I really wonder, why can’t an adult be positive and cheerful like a child.. like what he used to be?
So people, time to change. Be positive. I’m not there yet.. still very far from it. But I’m trying my best to go towards that direction. There will be some idiots in my life trying to pull me down,
but I am sure I will be able to handle it.
Again, life is short. Stop wasting your life away behaving so negatively. Be more positive and enjoy life. Hope it helps.
In case you don’t know, I don’t really like to read newspaper or listen to the news when I’m not feeling good. It will just worsen my day. But why is news still so famous when they are talking about negative stuff? Because human beings like to listen and hear things that are on the same channel with them…. and most people in this world are tuning in the “negative” channel. Try asking a news agency to report Good news. Most probably not many people wanna listen to them.
